During a CNN town hall on Monday night, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie presented a scathing critique of former President Donald Trump. He portrayed Trump as a figure brimming with resentment and revenge, an embodiment of unchecked narcissism that was on full display within mere moments of the event’s commencement.
In a stark warning to the nation, Christie ominously predicted that if Trump were to be reelected, his ensuing term would be predominantly consumed by an unrelenting pursuit of personal vendettas against his political adversaries. He accused Trump of displaying an alarming self-obsession and utter indifference towards the welfare of the American people, particularly evident in his post-presidential conduct.
“He has emerged in the aftermath of his presidency as an individual who is wholly self-absorbed, utterly indifferent to anyone but himself, and seemingly indifferent to the concerns and well-being of the American populace,” Christie noted in his fervent indictment of the former president.
Characterizing Trump as a “defeated man-child,” Christie drew a stinging parallel between the former president’s stubborn refusal to concede his 2020 reelection defeat and a petulant child shifting blame for failing a school examination.
“His response mirrors that of a petulant child,” asserted Christie. “I implore you to consider this critically: don’t let his theatrical flair cloud the reality. The incontrovertible fact remains that he was defeated by Joe Biden, a defeat that, in my estimation, was primarily attributed to his loss of support from independent voters.”
In an audacious critique of his Republican primary rivals, Christie appealed to voters to approach the imitators with skepticism.
“Scrutinize these supposed replicas carefully,” he implored. “For my part, I am not seeking to emulate anyone. My stance is uniquely my own.”
The town hall began with Christie delivering a formidable rebuke of Trump for the alleged misconduct outlined in the federal indictment against the former president. However, he didn’t reserve his stern words solely for Trump. The other primary competitors were also recipients of his clear-cut message.
“Regardless of your personal sentiment towards Donald Trump, whether you are his fan or his critic…his behavior, as described in these charges, is simply indefensible,” declared Christie, setting a stern tone for the discussion to follow.
Like anyone listens to the Fat Man anyway.
Yes, indeed Christie is a loser…loser…loser.
Sorry, but it is YOU who are the loser, Gov. Christie. You did not last long in the 2016 debates. You will last even LESS time in this 2024 race. You are a RINO through and through, and ALL of us can see it.
