Trump Surges To Biggest 2024 Lead So Far

In the latest released Morning Consult Survey, Trump takes the highest lead so far in the 2024 election. This is most likely driven by MAGA supporters as Trump faces an indictment for the hush money allegations. Though with this new lead, Trump has jumped to an unstoppable frontrunning position in the 2024 election cycle.

According to the new Morning Consult Poll Trump is leading Florida Governor Ron DeSantis 54% to 26%. Meaning the former president has a 28-point lead in the race.

According to the Washington Examiner,

“As Trump awaits potential indictment on charges related to a 2016 hush money scheme with adult-film star Stormy Daniels, he has posted one of his largest polling leads in the 2024 Republican primary. The latest survey shows 54% of potential primary voters support the former president, compared with 26% who are backing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, tying his expected opponent’s lowest level of support since tracking began in December.”

The allegations in New York maintain that Trump could be indicted due to claims that he had paid adult film star Stormy Daniels “hush money” over an alleged affair. Though the president claims he did not have an affair with Daniels and that he did not pay her any money. His lawyer, the alleged lawyer who paid Daniels off, said that Trump knew nothing of the payment.

The survey highlights the president’s support. It also showed a slip in former Vice President Mike Pence’s standing in the 2024 election. As Pence is another potential 2024 candidate, though like DeSantis, who has yet to announce a formal run for the seat.
