Biden Calls Supreme Court “An Advocacy Group” During Fundraiser

During a virtual fundraiser Tuesday night for Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, D-Del., President Biden gave his opinions on what he feels is at stake for the Democrats come midterm elections. Though his biggest remark of the night was against The Supreme Court. The court is currently comprised of a 6-to-3 conservative majority. A potential reason for the constant shots Biden throws at the court. Only now, they have they gotten more frequent since the court’s landmark decision on overturning Roe v. Wade.

According to The Washington Post:

“So, I view this … off-year election as one of the most important elections that I’ve been engaged in, because a lot can change because the institutions have changed,” Biden said. “The Supreme Court is more of an advocacy group these days than it is … evenhanded.”

Since the court’s Roe v. Wade decision, Biden has only gotten bolder in his comments against the court. While, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that Biden still has respect for the “institution of the court” but will not be silent about their rulings when he disagrees, it doesn’t seem as though there is much respect in these statements.
