The new board was revealed during Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ Wednesday testimony.
The so-called “Disinformation Governance Board” has been established to combat “disinformation” during the 2022 midterms.
According to Mayorkas’ testimony, it will be led by Undersecretary for Policy Rob Silvers co-chair with principal deputy general counsel Jennifer Gaskill. Politico reported that Nina Jankowicz, who previously served as a disinformation fellow at the Wilson Center, will head the board as executive director.The De
“The goal is to bring the resources of (DHS) together to address this threat,” Mayorkas said. He added that the board will focus on disinformation being spread to minority communities.
