Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) took a trip to Alberta to meet with Premier Jason Kenney on energy.
Manchin chairs the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. He has been an advocate for US energy independence and spoke with Kenney about a North American energy alliance.
“This visit of Sen. Manchin is a huge, I think, confirmation for us that we have friends in the United States who understand the important role that we play in American energy security,” said Kenney.
Asked about the Keystone XL pipeline project, which would have moved hundreds of thousands of additional barrels per day into the US before it was cancelled by Biden on his first day in office, Manchin pondered its comeback.
