Dem Frontrunner Makes Gains In New Poll

Former Vice President Joe Biden takes the lead in the Democratic primaries for president, a new poll finds.

Biden, 77, and independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, 78, both saw increases in national support for their bids for the Democratic presidential nomination. Quinnipiac University found Biden has 26% support among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents, whereas Sanders has 21% support.

The poll places Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, 70, in third place, with 15% support. Since the last Democratic debate, support for the Warren campaign has decreased by approximately 1 percentage point.

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, 77, and Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, 59, follow in fourth and fifth place, earning 8% and 7% respectively. Support for the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg also fell from 8% to 6%.
