Lindsey Graham Claims Victory On Crucial Vote

Via The Washington Examiner:

Sen. Lindsey Graham, who introduced a resolution condemning secretive impeachment proceedings in the House, claimed victory Monday after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced she’ll hold a formal vote and open up the hearings to the public.

“There is no doubt in my mind that the overwhelming response House Democrats heard from the American people and Senate Republicans in support of my resolution forced their hand,” said the South Carolina Republican, who is chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. “Today’s announcement is an acknowledgment of the success of our efforts last week.”

Pelosi announced Monday the House would vote on opening formal impeachment proceedingsand would proceed with rules aimed at providing the minority GOP with some rights, as well as due process for President Trump, whom they seek to impeach.

House Democrats have so far been holding impeachment proceedings in closed-door sessions in the Capitol basement. Graham and other Republicans have accused Democrats of selectively leaking testimony damaging to the president.
