Candidate Begs Party To Abandon ‘Safe Bet’, Vote For Him

Via Fox News:

Sen. Cory Booker took a shot at former Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday, saying it made no sense for Democrats to nominate a candidate who is considered to be a “safe bet.”

Making remarks before a candidates forum before the Iowa AFL-CIO, the New Jersey Democrat argued, “The next leader of our party can’t be someone that is a safe bet. ‘Oh let’s just find the person that can triangulate and get this done so we can beat Donald Trump.’”

Booker added, “I’m running in this election because I know we can do more than that.”

Booker never mentioned Biden by name, though his comments came two days after Jill Biden told New Hampshire voters, “I want you to think about your candidate, his or her electability, and who’s going to win this race.”
