CNN commentator Ana Navarro responded to Trump’s controversial Sunday tweets by suggesting that Republican politicians such as Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, as well as first lady Melania Trump, should be sent back to their families’ home countries.
Responding to Trump’s Sunday tweets suggesting “Progressive Democrat Congresswomen” go back to their home countries, Navarro said, “Well, I got news for Donald Trump and all of his supporters who feel the same way: this is our country. It is our country as much as it is the Trump’s country. And if we’re gonna start sending people back … Ted Cruz was born in Canada. Marco Rubio’s parents were born in Cuba. Melania Trump was born where? Slovenia. How about her parents who are here through family immigration?”
Navarro later opined that she believes Trump’s Twitter jabs toward the freshman representatives are rooted in his dislike for minorities. “It is no coincidence that the Congress people he is picking on are all women of color,” she added.
The CNN anchor then asked Navarro if she personally believes President Trump wants her to be in the United States, which Navarro responded, “I really couldn’t care less what Donald Trump wants. I don’t care if he wants me in this country or not because this is my country. He doesn’t get to decide that.”
