Texas Democrat Lloyd Doggett is calling for the arrest of Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig for refusing to comply with congressional subpoenas for President Trump’s tax returns.
Doggett, a member of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, told the press that his party should implement “inherent contempt” to hold Trump administration officials accountable and to obtain the president’s financial information.
Per Fox News:
“I believe that there is no legal advice that will stop the lawlessness and lies of this administration, and that is why Congress needs to act firmly now to use every tool it has available to get this information that Trump so fears that the public will see,” Doggett told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Tuesday night.
