Senator Accuses Obama Administration of Using Fake Dossier to Spy on Trump

Citing an unnamed “high-level source” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) tweeted that former CIA Director John Brennan demanded the Steele dossier be included in an intelligence report requesting surveillance on President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.

Per The Daily Caller:

The Steele dossier gained notoriety for its descriptions of Trump’s alleged sexual peccadilloes while on a trip to Russia. It was prepared by former British MI6 officer Christopher Steele and promoted by the Clinton-related Fusion GPS firm. The dossier was heralded as a journalistic scoop when first unveiled but has been largely discredited as a fraud since.

Brennan was a persistent and vocal critic of the president throughout the recently concluded investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller, at one point calling Trump “treasonous” after the he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
