West Virginia Senate candidate Don Blankenship intensified his attacks against Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, as polls show him falling behind his two opponents.
With barely a week until the Republican primary and early voting already underway, the coal baron revealed his startling nickname for Senator McConnell: “Cocaine Mitch.”
Blankenship’s referring to a 2014 article in the Nation, a progressive news magazine, describing how Colombian authorities once discovered drugs aboard a freighter owned by the family of McConnell’s wife, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.
In a recent interview, Blankenship hinted that voters should be wary of McConnell’s high-profile connections in China.
