Former Rep. Michael Grimm has qualified for the Republican primary ballot for New York’s 11th District in hopes of wrestling back his old seat from GOP Rep. Dan Donovan.
Grimm easily hurdled the 1,250-signature mark to file for the ballot Tuesday, the first day of eligibility to file in New York, gathering more than 3,000 signatures from people in the district.
The highly-anticipated primary for the Staten Island seat is slated for June 26.
The race is already simmering on the Republican side.
