If there is any validity to California Rep. Jackie Speier’s claim, then Hollywood isn’t the only place with a “secret” slush fund for sexual abusers.
The Democratic congresswoman claimed to MSNBC’s “Meet the Press Daily” host Chuck Todd that the U.S. House of Representatives has paid out $15 million in taxpayer dollars to victims of sexual harassment by members of Congress.
“We do know there is about $15 million that has been paid out by the House on behalf of harassers in the last 10 to 15 years,” Speier told Todd.
“I think [taxpayers] do have the right to know,” Speier said. “But right now, under the system, you don’t have a right to know.”
